Saxophone extravaganza hosted by Sarah Markham as part of her birthday celebrations
24th April 2010. 1.15 & 7.30 St. Paul's Hall, University of Huddersfield, Queensgate, Huddersfield, HD1 1DH:
Sarah's 40th Birthday Concert. Come and celebrate with a feast of saxophone music. The lunchtime concert will feature music for saxophone and piano played by saxophonists Sarah Markham and Professor Lynn Klock of the University of Massachusetts, with pianist Paul Turner.
The evening concert features a reunion of the Tribune Saxophone Octet, plus a 12 piece ensemble put together especially for the occasion (including eminent saxophonists Sarah Field, Martin Kerrigan, Lynn Klock, Julia Mills, Alex Mitchell, Alistair Parnell, and James Rae) with guest ensembles Equinox and the Yorkshire Saxophone Choir. The grand finale is a mass saxophone premiere performance of a new work by Rachel Stott written especially for the event.
